At the Crazy Bear Restaurant in Stadhampton, a power failure could be damaging to both reputation and sales. Therefore it's essential to keep the power running and to maintain a backup solution should the mains fail for any reason. That's where Energy Generator Sales stepped in. Having a generator onsite gives any restaurant and hotel the confidence that should the worst happen, whether it's a temporary power cut or a longer-term failure caused by adverse weather, they have a backup power source that is fit for purpose.

A number of the Energy Team paid a visit to the Oxon site prior to purchase being made and installation being carried out to ascertain the correct generator sizes required and source the best location. By conducting this site visit and identifying the correct equipment and details, Energy Generator Sales Ltd provided an accurate quote to the Restaurant inclusive of installation.

Due to the extensive site research and expert knowledge of the Energy Team, it was decided that the Restaurant required three backup generators to run effectively for as long as required. These generators would be able to support the electricity supply to the restaurant, hotel and farm shop in case of an emergency and Energy were able to provide the correct Generator solutions for the group.

The following generators were identified as being up for the job:

  • 2 x FG Wilson P65-5 65kVA standby power 3 phase diesel generators with silent canopies for the restaurant
  • FG Wilson F50-1 50kVA Standby power 3 phase diesel generator with silent canopy for the farm shop and hotel

Features of these generators include:

  • Perkins engines
  • FGW alternators
  • Sound-attenuated and weather-protective silent enclosures
  • FGW control panels
  • Battery chargers
  • Water heaters
  • Bunded base tanks

There were many considerations when identifying suitable generators for the restaurant, including sourcing the correct generators that could supply the amount of power required, access points to utilise when servicing and maintaining the equipment, as well as protecting the public from the generator site and ensuring that the noise output would not affect the guest experience when onsite.

Supported by the team at Energy Haulage Ltd, the generators were transported to the site quickly and efficiently, utilising one of the many large vehicles suitable for transporting generators. Once onsite, the generators were installed, commissioned, tested and signed off by our EGS Lead technical engineer Craig, all with positive results.

The ATS panel and electrical install were carried out and signed off by the onsite electrician.
